Research interests

Development of solid polymer electrolytes for use in high energy density lithium batteries and other applications. Understanding of gelation and physical characteriation to determine structure-property relationships. Techniques such as DSC, WAXS, DMTA, dielectric spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and FTIR used to investigate the effect of material composition and processing conditions to allow optimisation oif electrolyte performance for each application.

More generally an analysis of crystal strucure, molecular orientation and thermomechanical properties in a wide variety of polymers, blends and gels.
